The Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan (TSP) is dedicated to addressing the needs of ailing humanity. The society was founded by two women, Prof. Dr. Jovaria Mannan  and Prof. Dr. Yasmin Rashid in 1997, who are pioneers in the field of Thalassaemia in Pakistan. The society is dedicated to the treatment, awareness, and, most importantly, the prevention of Thalassaemia in Pakistan. In addition, the Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan holds the position of a board member in the Thalassaemia International Federation Cyprus (TIF) and is a founding member of the Thalassaemia Federation of Pakistan (TFP).

The Thalassaemia Society of Pakistan is registered with the Social Welfare & Bait ul Mal Department, holding Registration No. DDSW&WD-LD(REGD)/97-1070, under the Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961 (XLVI of 1961), since 16th October 1997 in Lahore.

One of the principal goals of the Society is the treatment of Thalassaemic children. The Society has established a Thalassaemia Center in the Pediatric ward at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore where children are given the treatment free of cost which includes:

  • blood transfusion
  • Removal of iron

How Can You Save A Life?

The Thalassaemia Society provides all its services (Treatment, Medicines, Tests, Food, Education, Vocational training & Transportation) free of cost. Funds for this cause are generated through personal donations.
